When you submit an event to our platform, we collect:
- Your name - To identify the submitter for our review process
- Your email address - To contact you about your submission if needed
- Event details - Including venue names, instructor names, Instagram handles, and other publicly displayed information
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Usage data - We use PostHog analytics to understand how users interact with our platform. This includes pages visited, features used, and general usage patterns.
- Local storage - We save form drafts to your browser's local storage so you don't lose progress if you close the page. This data stays on your device and is not sent to our servers.
2.3 Information from third-party sources
We aggregate class schedule information from dance studios to provide comprehensive listings. This includes class names, times, instructors, and venue information.
3. How we use your information
- To process submissions - We review event submissions and contact submitters if clarification is needed
- To display events - Approved submissions are displayed publicly on our platform
- To improve the platform - Analytics help us understand usage patterns and improve the user experience
- To maintain security - We implement rate limiting and security measures to protect the platform
4. Legal basis for processing (UK GDPR)
- Legitimate interest - Processing event data to provide our service to the dance community
- Contract - Processing submission data to fulfill your request to list an event
- Consent - For any marketing communications (we don't currently send marketing emails)
5. Data sharing
We share data with the following third parties:
- Supabase (database hosting) - Stores submission data securely
- PostHog (analytics) - Processes anonymised usage data (EU servers)
- Vercel (hosting) - Hosts our web application
We do not sell your personal information to third parties or use it for advertising purposes.

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data we hold about you

We implement appropriate security measures including HTTPS encryption, CSRF protection, rate limiting, and secure database hosting to protect your data.
